Daughter of Princess Likelike (Kalakaua's sister), & Archibald Cleghorn. Princess Ka`iulani was born on October 16, 1875, she was engaged to marry Prince David Kawananakoa in 1898, but unfortunately she died within a year in 1899. Princess Ka`iulani was named heir to the throne by Queen Lili`uokalani on March 9, 1891, but she never succeeded the throne, the beloved princess died childless on March 6, 1899 at the age of 23, six years after the 1893 overthrow
